What you’ll need
- A supported 64‑bit Linux system (Ubuntu 18.04+ or Ubuntu‑based Mint). See Supported operating systems & GPUs (Desktop) for details.
- A current Java runtime installed (e.g., OpenJDK 17). If Java isn’t present, install it before launching the app.
Download
Get the Linux build from the official Downloads page on the Deep Art website.
Install (step by step)
Depending on the package format provided on the downloads page, follow the matching path below.
A) AppImage
- Save the file (e.g.,
DeepArtEffects-x.y.z.AppImage). - Right‑click → Properties → Permissions → check Allow executing file as program.
- Double‑click the AppImage to launch.
B) Archive with launcher (e.g., .tar.gz/.zip)
- Extract the archive to a folder in your home directory (e.g.,
~/DeepArtEffects). -
Open Terminal, then:
cd ~/DeepArtEffects ./DeepArtEffects # or: bash ./start.sh (use the included launcher)
Note: The exact package name and launcher script may vary by version; use the launcher included in the download.
First launch & license
- Start Deep Art Effects using the AppImage or the included launcher.
- If prompted, enter your Product Key to activate (you can also activate later via Help → Activate License).
- After activation, restart the app once.
Distro notes (Ubuntu / Linux Mint)
- Ubuntu 18.04 / 19.04 / 20.04 / 22.04: Steps are the same; ensure a current Java runtime is available.
- Linux Mint (Ubuntu‑based editions): Follow the same steps as Ubuntu; the Software Manager may open archives for you.
Troubleshooting
- App won’t start: Run from Terminal to see messages; ensure Java 17 is installed and on the system.
- GPU edition: Make sure a supported NVIDIA driver and toolkit are installed (see GPU compatibility and Driver & toolkit versions).
