What is a seed?

A seed is a starting value for the image generation process. Using the same prompt and the same seed gives you the same layout/composition again; changing the seed produces a different layout while keeping the prompt intent.

Reproducibility: re‑create a result

  1. Note or copy the prompt and the seed value used for an image.
  2. Generate again with the identical prompt and seed to reproduce the composition.
  3. Save both the image and its prompt/seed for version control.

Tip: Keep a small library (CSV or notes) of prompts & seeds you like, so you can revisit or extend a series later.

Create purposeful variations

Use small, controlled changes so you can tell what helped:

  • Change only one thing at a time: adjust the seed or a single word in the prompt (e.g., "watercolor" → "gouache").
  • Bracket the seed: try a few neighboring seeds (e.g., +1/−1/±5) to keep a similar composition while exploring alternatives.
  • Style tweaks: add or remove one style/mood cue (e.g., "golden hour", "high‑key").

Aspect ratios & composition

Choose an aspect ratio that fits the intended use before generating when possible:

  • Square (1:1): avatars, profile images.
  • Portrait (3:4 / 4:5 / 9:16): posters, phone wallpapers.
  • Landscape (16:9 / 21:9): headers, banners, cover art.

For strict dimensions (e.g., 2000 × 419 headers), generate near the target ratio and then crop precisely; use upscaling if you need extra resolution.

Size & upscaling workflow

  • Generate at a comfortable working size first.
  • If you need more detail, run 2×/4× upscaling afterwards.
  • Check sharpness at 100% zoom; avoid excessive upscaling beyond the project’s real needs.

Tips

  • Keep important prompt terms near the start; the seed controls layout, the prompt controls content & style.
  • When exploring a style series, lock the seed and change only style/mood words to keep composition stable.
  • For collections, maintain a consistent aspect ratio across all images.

  • Why do two runs look different with the same prompt?
    Because the seed changed. Reuse the same seed to reproduce a result.
  • Can I force a different layout without rewriting my prompt?
    Yes—change the seed to get a new composition while keeping the original prompt.
